Hometown Democracy is Hurting Towns

I recently received this information, I thought it to be to important not to pass along.

In 2006, my hometown of St. Pete Beach became the first community in Florida to adopt a local version of Amendment 4 requiring a vote on every proposed change to the town's comprehensive plan, no matter how small or technical.

I have asked Ryan Houck, Executive Director from Floridians for Smart Growth, to present to the group at our first meeting in January.

It is critical that you are involved in our local and regional "Floridians for Smarter Growth" campaign committees to stop Amendment 4.  We are almost 12 months from election day, and now is the time to get involved.
